Study program and specializations

The Navigation program at UMG is a first-cycle (engineering) degree that follows international standards for officer training (STCW – Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers). The study track includes a practical profile with a strong emphasis on maritime operations and ship management.

The primary specialization offered is:

  • Maritime Transport – focused on the knowledge and skills needed for ship navigation, maritime trade, and safety at sea.

The full-time program lasts eight semesters (four years) and is conducted in English. Upon completion, students earn the professional title of engineer.

  • Specialized training and certifications provided during studies, accredited by the Maritime Administration
  • STCW certifications after the 7th semester, necessary for obtaining the Watchkeeping Officer diploma
